Inside or outside city limits?
A county can contain multiple cities and unincorporated areas. Ask whether the county order covers your location and whether a city has separate outdoor-burning requirements.
Fire districts and special jurisdictions
A local fire district may handle permit questions outside a city. Parks, national forests, other public land, and Tribal land can have separate responsible agencies. Check the land manager before planning a campfire.
What to ask
Give the address or named recreation area, the date, and the activity. Ask which restrictions and permits apply and where the current written instructions are posted.
